North Tawton Bowling Club season to open on April 22

By Crediton Courier Newspaper in Bowls

NORTH Tawton Bowling Club has made great strides in the last couple of months to get its new clubhouse up and running but with some finishing touches still to do, we have delayed the opening.

However the new bowling season is upon us.

Therefore on Saturday, April 22, at 2.30pm, at the clubhouse, we are inviting new/old/beginners to take part in bowling, to get their line and length ready for the coming summer months.

So to say a much-needed “Thank You” to all the people who have given up their time and expertise for free, we will be having a buffet and drinks morning for them on Sunday, May 21, details to follow.

We hope they will come and enjoy the morning and admire everyone’s handiwork - “Thanks again folks!”

The official opening will be on Paul Andrew’s President’s Day, which will be on Saturday, June 10.

Attending will be Sport England and Virador (our main contributors), North Tawton Town Council, the contractors, West Devon Borough Council and many others who have helped us on our way.

Please come along and join us for some fun and exercise in both league and friendlies, either on Saturday, April 22 and/or on our club nights every Monday from 6pm onwards.

In addition, on Thursday, June 1, Bowls England will be coming to the club and will be bringing a team to play us, most likely rinks, and will involve meals both before and after the game. More information on this event too, will be sent out later.
