MONDAY, April 10 saw Downes Crediton Golf Club seniors play for the John Baird Trophy, an individual stableford.
Mike Charnock posted a fine 40 points to take the overall trophy and Division One victory with Jim Dunlop (38 pts) following in second whilst Dave Vowden (37 pts) finished third.
Division Two saw Peter Johnson take the victory scoring 38 points with Joe Hull second posting 35 points.
The second week of the Mid-Week Stableford, played on Wednesday, April 12, saw Darren Galliford score 41 points to take the win. Josie Phillips scored 40 points to finish second with Ashley Cross (39 pts) third.
Downes ladies put on a coffee morning and social golf on Thursday, April 13 that saw many visitors enjoy the experience of Downes Crediton.
Later in the day the nine hole Thursday Evening Stableford took place and last year’s Order of Merit winner Mark Harris posted 20 points to take the win.
On Saturday, April 15, yet another perfect April day with the course playing beautifully, James Bourner stole the show posting a superb 44 points to win the Club Stableford by a five-point margin.
Bourner’s score also saw him take top spot in Division One with Darren Russell (38 pts) second and Scott Singleton (36 pts) in third.
Division Two was won by Jim Hutchison with a 39 point total with Paul Furzer (36 pts) second and Nick Staddon (35 pts) in third.
Steve Knight ran out winner of Division Three posting 39 points whilst Ian Steer finished second scoring 36 points with Matt Redstone (35 pts) in third.
