Special thanks made to Martin Daniel at Morchard Bishop Football Club awards evening

MORCHARD Bishop Football Club held its end of season presentation evening at the London Inn on Friday, April 21.

The evening began with a wonderful meal laid on by the London Inn followed by a casino night, which as last year was a great success.

Award winners were: Player of the Year:  Steve Powlesland; Players Player: Ryan Gibson-Heard; Supporters Player: Jack Parkhouse; Club Player: Josh Doe; Leading Goal scorer: Ryan Gibson-Heard.

A special award was also presented to Jack Parkhouse for playing in every game of the season.

A special goodbye was said to one of the club’s stalwarts. Mr Martin Daniel who, after a 25-year association with the Club, is now stepping down.

Martin started with the club as a player, and became a valued committee member, where he was the treasurer for many years.

Martin was presented with a gift, and the chairman gave a short story of his life and times at Morchard Bishop Football Club.

Martin’s wife, Sally Anne, was presented with a bouquet of flowers.

In his speech, the chairman said: “People like Martin, do not come along very often, so Martin we thank you for your commitment to our club, over the last 25 years and we wish you and the family well.”

The clubs AGM is on Sunday, May 14 at 7.30pm and all are welcome to attend.
