CODS, Crediton’s Operatic and Dramatic Society, will be presenting the outline of their planned 2018 October performance - a work in progress - to celebrate the contribution made by the people of Crediton and surrounding villages during the Great War (1914-18), in Crediton’s old Town Hall on Monday, June 5, from 7.30pm.
This will not be a performing workshop, it will be an informal gathering for anyone who is interested in learning more about this production and listening to some of the music involved.
Everyone is invited to drop in and find out more about the project.
However the society would particularly like people to go along who could provide members with information about their own families during the period of the First World War.
A spokesman said: "We would especially welcome any information, letters, telegrams, newspaper cuttings, old photographs that you have from the period of the First World War. Also we would welcome any anecdotes you have, funny or sad, from that time.
"We are also still trying to obtain information with regard to a District Nurse who lived and worked in Crediton at the outbreak of the war, she arrived here from Kent and then served as a Nurse on the Western Front where she kept a Diary.
"We would also welcome anyone who feels they would like to be involved with this production either as a performer, musician or working backstage. So please come along and meet the production team."
