All the action will be at Sandford Cricket Club near Crediton

SANDFORD Cricket Club hosts the Devon County Cricket Club v Shropshire this Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, July 30, 31 and August 1, with start times of 11am each day.

Devon will be keen to do well, as the team has won the last couple of games, and will be looking to challenge for the Minor Counties Western League title.

The side’s chances have been bolstered by the inclusion of current Nottinghamshire Captain and former England wicketkeeper, Chris Read.

Chris was a former Devon player in his early years where he progressed through the Devon set-up whilst playing for Paignton. He played at all-age group levels before being snapped up by Nottinghamshire some 20 years ago. His inclusion should be a big boost for Devon in their quest for the Western title.

There will be an all-day barbecue at the club and the bar will be open from 11am. There will be a small £3 charge for anyone bringing their car, but no charge for anyone attending on foot.

The other reminder is that the following Friday, August 4, when the Sandford Club’s Community League Final will take place between the Crediton Inn and the Rugby Club with a 6.15pm start. Again there will be a barbecue throughout the evening and the bar will be open before and after the game.

There will be no charge for the Community League Final.
