Caroline Stott inducted as pastor at Lapford Congregational Church

MORE than 100 people attended a service to mark the Induction of Caroline Stott as pastor at Lapford Congregational Church on Saturday, August 5.

The welcome and introductions were made by Rev Adrian Wyatt, the Congregational Federation South West of England Area Worker and a statement from the church was made by church elder, Noel Parry.

Honoured guests included Rev Martin Spain, Congregational Federation President, who gave a reading; Rev Lindsey Starrs, North Creedy Team Rector; Philip Burrow, Yeo Valley Christian Fellowship; Devon County Councillor Mrs Margaret Squires; Rev Vincent Carrington, Congregational Federation SW Area and Cllr Sue Briant-Evans, Lapford Parish Council.

Rev Sandra Turner, Caroline’s mentor also attended and spoke during the service.

Caroline’s daughter Mawgan surprised her mother by singing the hymn “How Great Thou Art” solo, to much praise from the congregation.

Caroline said she was looking forward to her ministry at Lapford and in the community and was presented with a bouquet of flowers before a splendid tea was served to all those present.
