Devon’s motorcycle safety action plan for 2012 is under way - Friday, 06/Jan/2012
A Meeting of motorcycle groups including the Motorcycle Action Group (MAG) and Devon Advanced Motorcyclists (DAM) together with representatives of the Devon and Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service, Devon and Cornwall Police, Wheels2Work Scheme, Devon and Cornwall Safety Camera Partnership and RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) was held at the Devon Driver’s Centre, Westpoint, Exeter on December 9 to discuss how conditions for motorcyclists in Devon could be improved.

MY ONLY previous experience of off-road motorcycling was on a 80cc “scrambler” ‘around a farmer’s field in Cheshire 20 years or so ago, so to be asked to “have a go” at some green lane riding filled me with apprehension and excitement in equal measure! Green lane riding makes use of public access tracks, byways and un-surfaced public highways usually aboard off-road motorcycles but sometimes on four wheel drive vahicles and also horses too.
