UPDATE: Emergency works to repair a collapsed gulley on the A377 between Crediton and Newton St Cyres are now complete.

The road has fully reopened both ways.

THERE are reports of a long tailback of traffic on the A377 between Crediton and Newton St Cyres this morning, Wednesday, May 8, one person saying that the traffic queue is four miles long.

Traffic lights are operating near Moonridge at Newton St Cyres and one person said those travelling on the route should give themselves an extra half an hour.

David, from Crediton, told the Courier: “Four-mile tailback of traffic along A377 between Crediton and Newton St Cyres.

“I’ve just abandoned my bus journey to Exeter as I'm going to miss the connecting bus and I'm walking back to Crediton on the country road.”
